Naturally, when the Count de Mario Caracciolo, the last descendant of a prestigious Neapolitan family was seeking the perfect place to call home he chose this villa – known as “the jewel” or il gioiello, of Sorrento. Purchasing the home in 1970, the count filled the home with his collection of antiques and treasures. Set against a sleek white backdrop, his paintings, vases and sculptures add a historic and personal touch to the otherwise modern home. A lover of all things beautiful, he once said, “Having something unique is not a sin… but just a nice luxury to be granted!” The 450 square meter (4,845 sq. ft) home is designed over several levels, offering plenty of room for you and your guests. The spacious open plan living room is bathed in natural light, overlooked by a small private study. With five double bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, Villa Il Gioiello comfortably accommodates up to ten guests.
