Good quiet place to stay near Harper’s Ferry. Place was clean, hot tub was nice we were able to watch deer next door and across the street hang out and graze. Everything was in place and clean. Beds were soft and comfortable. The only issue that I have is the rocks that line the driveway especially when turning out of the driveway will catch lower vehicles and cars it caused a little damage to my wife’s car and be careful where you park there is an oak tree with dead and rotting limbs that need to be trimmed that are right above the area where cars would park if you have more than one car. If I were to ever come back to Harper’s Ferry I would definitely stay there again.

This cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend in the mountains. We would definitely come back again!

From the first step inside, felt right at home. Fully stocked kitchen and the place was spotless. Definitely a 10 out of 10. Was a bonus having such an amazing view of the mountains and cows. Do yourself a favor and book this location!

This place is absolutely beautiful! It was impeccably clean and offered stunning views! The night was wonderfully quiet, making it feel like we were in our own serene world. The layout of the space is amazing, and to top it off, there’s a delightful winery “Firefly” just a short 20-foot walk away! The hot tub was the perfect addition, providing a relaxing way to unwind while enjoying the views. We couldn't have asked for a better stay!

We had a great stay! Olivia was an excellent host. The place had the perfect vibe for a girls weekend and birthday celebration. The only issue we had was needing to catch 2 wasps that were in the house, but we were able to take care of that without issue. It was so nice to have so many towels and amenities that you don’t normally have in an Airbnb. Thanks again!

Darrel went above and beyond in making sure we had a great stay! He was kind, responsive and overall a superstar. We had an incredibly relaxing time and enjoyed the peace his listing had to offer. Had a lovely weekend in VA at Dollys place, and at a really great price. The house was very charming, though very clearly older, but everything about it was within what I consider normal expectations with an older home out in this area. We really enjoyed spending time in the backyard, which was fenced in and had a charming fire pit and table. Our dogs and kids alike took advantage of the ample room for activities back there! Dolly and her husband were very responsive and easy to reach and talk to. Would recommend for a weekend getaway!

Perfect place for us! Clean and cute! The fenced in yard was a big hit with our pup (and us!). Amanda was very quick to answer our questions and the location was super convenient for our trip into Shenandoah Natl Park and the Skyline Drive!

Very peaceful and lots of nature and animals to see

Mary Scott and Mark's cottage was a wonderful little getaway. The cottage was quaint and cozy. Check-in instructions were very clear and our hosts were very responsive. It was a great location with beautiful surroundings and had many things to do within a 20-25 min radius. Downtown Charlottesville and Monticello were close by and were great day activities. We also really enjoyed the Glass House Winery which was about 5 min away. Beautiful home, highly recommend!

The pink cottage is nestled in nature, but also in the city. We were able to head toward UVA campus or out toward Ivy with ease. The place is both quirky and quaint - an artistically steeped homebase.

This was our third time staying here and it is always wonderful. The property itself is beautiful and peaceful. Our dog loves the fenced in yard and dog amenities (water bowl, poop bags). The coffee that Billy provides is so good and much appreciated. Phone coverage can be spotty (the provide wifi works great), so the recommendations and directions provided in the Welcome binder are very useful. Love it here & hoping we will be able to visit again soon.

This was a perfect place for a peaceful getaway. The fireplace was a treat, and we had a very cozy stay. It's hard to add to what other reviewers have already said, but here is one detail: on a winter's night, when the moon is down and the sky is clear, the stars are fantastic! Because there is no nearby light pollution, the view from the deck of the night sky is deep and brilliant.

Secluded location, nice, quiet and peaceful. There is one house next door but didn’t see or hear anyone the entire time. The property is surrounded by woods and a large creek down below out the back. I have a real Service Dog, Malinois/Lab mix who is also off leash trained and I was able to let her enjoy being a dog for a while roaming the property and woods. The only negative is the lack of window coverings in the bedroom/bath room. To compensate we left the outside lights on at night which worked well to allay our fears. The house was very clean and all of the appliances are quite new and worked very well. The house heater is excellent, the shower has water pressure and hot water for days! The internet and TV worked extremely well and there is good cell phone signal. The road is gravel so a very low clearance sports car might have trouble so don’t bring your Corvette!! The house is less than 10 minutes to downtown Middleburg and has a small Safeway. All in all a great experience.

This is the third year we’ve come back to the Gatekeeper Cottage and it’s just as wonderful as always, Adrianne and Brick are very friendly hosts! We hope to come back again in the summer even if just for a day to enjoy the house in another season. Thank you again for having us back!

We had a great stay! The cottage is lovely! It was comfortable, clean, and there was plenty of space for the 2 of us. We enjoyed walking to the sights in Bolivar & Harper’s Ferry. We will definitely stay again if we return to the area.

Kay takes pride in this property and it shows in her attention to detail. It is a lovely place to stay and she personalizes the experience to make you feel welcomed. The home is well decorated and super clean. We loved our stay!

We stayed at Austen and Katie's for only one night, but wished we could have stayed longer. The cottage is beautifully decorated, super clean, and very inviting. Mattresses were comfortable - we all slept very soundly. When we got in after dinner, the cottage was a little chilly so I messaged Austen. He offered to change the settings through his app and then we were good through the night. Austen also offered to let us come back to the cottage after our day at UVA if we wanted to rest before getting on the road. We didn't take him up on this, but really appreciated the offer. We will definitely stay here again if we are back in the area! Oh, an FYI....it is about a 15-20 minute ride into downtown Charlottesville.

My husband and I decided on a last-minute weekend getaway, and Bonnie was so accommodating with this gorgeous little cottage! The space was clean, comfortable, thoughtfully furnished, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The historical details were one-of-a-kind. Absolutely loved the quiet setting on the family farm and close proximity to the brewery, too! I would highly recommend this space - it's the perfect location for exploring wine country.

An adorable little cottage for a weekend getaway in the mountains! The bed is comfortable, the kitchen has all the essentials and the host baked fresh muffins to welcome us. Clear instructions in the welcome packet and around the appliances. The screened in porch is perfect for enjoying the vineyard views. Close by national and state parks and a bustling walkable downtown.
