If it's dark skies at night you are seeking, this is the place. In a dark sky sanctuary, with open space all around. Set up your telescope, bring binoculars, or just sit outside at night and look up. It will be rewarding and impressive. The cabin is almost luxurious, very comfortable and inviting. Kitchen is nicely equipped. Not off-grid; plenty of electricity, hot water, and Starlink internet. Great gas fireplace. The road in Nevada is not paved, but is well maintained for passenger vehicles.

Cute, warm and comfortable cabin that has everything you need for a restful getaway in this area. I especially like how welcoming the host is and the homemade baked treats she left for me.

Bobbie has a beautiful home very cozy and warm welcoming. Bobbi also was very flexible with us being behind our leave time. she is a great host. We would book again if in the area!

Five stars! Christy is a wonderful host and made our stay in Cedarville, California, very enjoyable. We encountered a minor, unforeseen issue with the heat in one of the rooms, but Christy immediately sent a kind and helpful gentleman who quickly resolved it. The home offered a lovely and charming country stay, surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of Modoc County. Each room was thoughtfully furnished, with many small touches that showed great attention to detail. I especially appreciated practical features like a well-placed bathroom hook — a small but often overlooked convenience that made a big difference. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would gladly stay here again without hesitation!

Spent a week at the cabin while participating in a wildlife management program (x4). Cabin was conveniently located near the national forest and Pittville Highway and was a perfect place to rest and unwind after a hard day's work. Lots of goodies in the fridge and pantry, and we utilized the nice grill on the porch multiple times. The home was private and secluded - surrounded by nature. Loved seeing the deer and other wildlife on the property. The view of the stars was incredible, and we even got to see the aurora one evening. Sandi was a great host who gave us our privacy, but was always available for questions and friendly recommendations. We unfortunately didnt take enough time to explore the property, but it was a beautiful ranch with a pair of gorgeous horses. So looking forward to the next opportunity to stay at the Rocking K Guest Cabin. It really is a special place and met our needs perfectly.

My partner and I can’t get enough of Squirreville—it’s our go-to escape from the “real world.” The moment we step into the cabin, we’re wrapped in this incredible sense of warmth and ease. The property itself is stunning, and the landscapes beyond are breathtaking. Cam and Christine are the kindest hosts—always so thoughtful, responsive, and genuinely dedicated to making sure every guest feels right at home. It’s pure magic every time we visit- I cannot recommend this place enough!

Im on a 13 week traveling nurse contract in Alturas. I love the open rural areas with wildlife in abundance. Stephen was very responsive to my texts and questions. Many new friends felt I was paying too much but his place was less than the first place I stayed for 6 weeks! A bit like OC prices🤔
