Huisjes in White Stone

Our stay in this home was such a treat! We enjoyed utilizing the kayaks to boat around in Chesapeake Bay. The hot tub was an absolute delight, perfect for evening stargazing, saw lots of shooting stars, and could see the water of the bay from the hot tub. We also enjoyed doing November cold plunges from the hot tub to the pool. While the living room is not expansive, it fit our needs for family game & movie nights. The bed linens were so comfortable, and Lori was beautifully responsive & friendly when we would reach out with a question. We also enjoyed the nearby Sandy beaches.

This home was exactly what we needed - a beautiful, relaxing space with wonderful views. Every home along the private road is lovely - the azaleas in bloom during our April stay were stunning! The house itself was clean and had every amenity. The outdoor space was fantastic! We enjoyed our time sitting and rocking and looking at the river. We drove in to Williamsburg twice. It was a bit of a drive, but was worth it. Gloucester is a cute town and we did a little shopping & eating. Don’t hesitate to book this home!

This is a really nice getaway that is peaceful and serene. The home is older, but has some nice updates. I am one that appreciates a home with character. It is in a secluded area, so at night its gets really dark in the hot tub area which we made good use of. Waking up to views of the lake was my favorite part of the day. I was sad when the sun started to go down. There are neighbors, but the houses aren't very close to each other. It is located in a small town so there aren't many food options. The restaurant we went to wasn't very good, so I'd highly recommend cooking for your stay or bringing food. That's what we did. We cooked our meals and grilled. It was fantastic. Four of us stayed there comfortably. Two couples. Overall we had a nice 3 days and I'd highly recommend.

This old log cabin school house, this was one of the most amazing experiences our family has ever had in an Airbnb. The history in this home is something like I’ve never witnessed before in my life. You can feel the love that has been poured into this unique stay. It felt like home with endless bonuses found throughout the home, carriage house and property. Richard was an incredible host and this was by far the most personable experience we have ever had in all our years using Airbnb. You can feel the peacefulness this place offers from the moment you turn onto the driveway. The sunsets are breathtaking and we saw deer, turkey and a ton of other wildlife daily. One night right after sunset my husband caught a 24” speckled trout! Our four children, ages 12, 9, 4 and 1, all had a blast. We brought a baby gate for the living room/kitchen doorways and it was perfect! Downtown Mathews is adorable and we loved the visitor center. Definitely check this place out if you have the opportunity ?

Our trip to The Half Shell Haven was great! The place was clean, extremely well stocked, and included many extras! We had crazy weather the first two days, but we had plenty to do at the house. My boys loved being on the water and the game room and my daughter loved the hot tub and bicycling. My daughters service dog enjoyed a nice reprieve and seemed so happy. We had a great time, and were honestly sad to go! If we find ourselves back up in Virginia we will definitely stay here! Thank you for the care and attention to detail to ensure a great trip!

Had a gorgeous stay in Heathsville this Easter weekend thanks in large part to this great Airbnb. It's in a really ideal location with plenty of privacy and space to spread out. Nice to have a taste of both the coast/beach and the countryside! Well furnished and thoughtfully put together, was pleasantly surprised by a paddle board on arrival. Also really appreciated that the house isn't an open floor plan; after a day in the sun, a quiet uninterrupted nap was a game changer. We saw a large array of cool animals (Bald Eagle was coolest), loved all the outdoor spaces, and you really can't beat the view. Couldn't have asked for more. Thanks again! :)

We absolutely loved our time at Rachel’s Airbnb! The property was beautiful. It was all exactly as described. We were able to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We woke up in the morning the beautiful natural light from the sunrise and the beautiful views. Our dogs LOVED their time here as well! During the day we took out the kayaks and did a little bit of fishing. The tide ended up getting lower at night and revealed a nice sandbar! We went out and played fetch with the dogs out on the sandbar! We tried some of the places Rachel recommended and they were also fantastic! We definitely recommend to anyone trying to have a nice peaceful getaway.

There is nothing more serene than waking up in the ‘crab shack’ with the sunrise. What a comfortable and scenic spot. Even our dog, Juno, loved it! Took a sunset sail to celebrate a birthday and got front pier service! Our host, Carlisle, was extremely attentive and kind with any needs we had or hadn’t thought of. Wish we had booked longer. We hope to return very soon!!

What a perfect cottage! Beautifully (but comfortably) furnished, right on the water, incredibly well-stocked. Arranged so families can spread out, or gather together. Everything you could possibly require or desire for a vacation or getaway was there. And the area is full of things to do--walks, birdwatching, antiquing, or, if you're an architecture geek like me, historic sites and buildings. You're also a 3-minute walk from the best restaurant on the Northern Neck, Merroir Tasting Room. Can't wait to come back.

My parents and I stayed here for four days. It was the perfect peaceful getaway for us. The place was really cute, two bedrooms with queen size beds, a large bathroom, and the cutest kitchen-living room area. Gloucester is a sweet town to hang out in, and the host gave some great recommendations for local places to check out. Wonderful place, we will be coming back!!

Such a great location - just a short walk from the beach. Front porch is a great place in the mornings and evenings. The dining room and living room fit our group well and we squeezed in the bedrooms (4 couples + 6 kids all 3 and under) but it was perfect since we spent most time outside anyways! Adam was super helpful and quick to respond when we needed a few items. Would definitely visit again!

I cannot find the words to express our families stay. When I say this was the best stay at an ABNB we have had thus far it was. The outside itself from the landscaping to the scenery was breathtaking. Checking in was a breeze. Once inside pictures cannot begin to show the beauty of this property. The hosts have really thought through a guest experience. They went over and beyond hosts duties adding extreme attention to details. Anything and everything you may need or want for your stay was there. Even with all the extra amenities and the beauty of the home our family instantly felt at home. We loved our stay so much we have already booked our next stay.

We loved the house; cozy, nicely decorated, with many pieces of original art that really added character. The kitchen is well stocked for those who like to cook. The location right on the water was wonderful, and Nancy provided kayaks, which we took advantage of. Our dog was beside himself with so much room to run. Nancy’s daughter and family live next door, and we spent quite a few hours enjoying conversation and local knowledge with them. We would go back again.

The home and property were peaceful and quiet. We especially loved the spacious, (all weather) sunny enclosed porch. The kitchen and family room were comfy and had everything we needed. We walked the neighborhood with our dogs and the beach was beautiful as well as relaxing. Such a wonderful weekend get away.

My wife and I had an amazing time staying here! While we wanted to explore Williamsburg and Richmond, we spent half of the days there just enjoying the lake. Those were my favorite days. In all, a really great place to read, play board games, snack on food, and sit by the water.

Nice place I really recommend

We had a great long weekend stay. The house was spacious and well appointed. We loved sitting outside under the stars and playing with the kids in the sunroom. Was such a nice touch to have kids toys at the house and lots of space to gather. We had one issue with the HVAC but each space had a window AC unit and the host was super helpful and responsive. Would 100% recommend and stay again.

This was our 2nd stay on the island , but first time at Mary Kim's. Great hospitality including home cooked egg rolls that made the long journey even more worth it. The only downfall would be the dock and kayak spot is a couple doors down, but Mary Kim was very communicative. lastly, I highly recommend the golf cart service on the island, gives you more of an ability to explore the island.

The host was very responsible and helpful! The house was very clean, great amenities and very relaxing.

Our first visit to Cape Charles and we loved it. K’s house is in a lovely residential area, but very close to shops and restaurants and a 10 minute walk to a beautiful beach area. The house is simple but comfortable and has everything you need (no high chair or pack & play, but we brought our own). We loved sitting on the porch.

The home sits on a nice point of land at the end of a quiet road. It is a nice mix of early 20th century charm and modern with spacious living room, kitchen, and bedrooms. The living room and large deck allow unobstructed views of the water. The home is well-kept, clean, and includes everything you need for a pleasant getaway. And, it is a short (10 min.) drive to the shops and restaurants in Kilmarnock. A relaxing, recommended stay.

we had an excellent time at the little grey house. its cute and comfy and the view is to die for. please do yourselves a favor and watch the sunrise at least once its beautiful. theres not much on the island itself for food but there are plenty of places to find good food near by. I highly recommend the pizza at southwind pizza. was really good. I promise you will enjoy your stay at. Will hopefully beable to book again next time were down in the area!

Absolutely beautiful spot to stay at. Had a really enjoyable time, was very peaceful and relaxing. The house also had a very home like feel to it, and had plenty of supplies already there. Chuck was very helpful with any questions and also provided information on nearby places to eat and buy supplies. Definitely recommend if you want a nice, quiet place to stay for a bit that is out of the way and private.
