Located in a historic 200 year old building "Ship Shape" is close to downtown but on a quiet tree-lined residential street. It is just one block to the library, bookstore, post office and all the lovely shops. It is on the shore of the Damariscotta River with wonderful views from inside and out.. You’ll love my place because of the neighborhood, the light, the outdoor space, and the comfortable bed. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.

The Gallery Apartment

The Gallery apartment (3 night minimum) is a delightful spot for 2 or 3 visitors.. A Queen sized bed is in the bedroom and now a twin bed has been placed in the living area for separate sleeping. Spacious, bright, and airy, the apartment is above our home & my studio/gallery. The apartment is separate & includes its own entrance to ensure your privacy and convenience. Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. This building, built in 1832, was the sole building to survive the devastating fire of 1837. I wonder about those who have inhabited these walls over the past 190 years! Because the building is old it has a few quirks! The walls aren’t quite straight, the wood floors show where walls once stood or have moved. That’s why I call it Wabi Sabi…. The imperfections add to it’s beauty!
