Historic Tower with Views of the Lake and Countryside

A beautiful home and peaceful location. We wanted somewhere tranquil with a stunning view of Umbria - that’s exactly what we got. Really unique medieval castle which added to our Italian experience. Daniele was extremely responsive and everything was beautifully set up - we arrived on Easter and there were some Easter chocolate eggs when we arrived which was such a nice surprise after a long day. There was a stunning outside area too to lounge, sit and enjoy breakfast whilst soaking up the beautiful green Tuscany. Presentation was lovely, from the bows on the towels and flowers on the table downstairs. The only thing to note is the shower is quite small if you are a taller guest. But it was perfect as a couple and we would definitely stay again.

One of a kind place! A little off the beaten path, but there is so much to do in the area. Eleonora was very helpful with recommendations and strives to have you enjoy your stay. The old town and museum are great just across the river. Hopefully we make it back one day!

Medieval tower experience with panoramic rooftop

Words cannot describe this experience. if you're looking at this...BOOK IT!!!! you won't regret it (unless you despise stairs). This place was out of this world, blew our minds, highlight of the trip. the tower is indescribable. so unique, gorgeous, clean, cozy, every floor an adventure and so exciting to stay and discover it. the host is responsive, kind, arranged transport from public parking to the front door in the center of town. the front door is right on the main square by the cathedrals and museum. we had evening wine and breakfast at sunrise from the rooftop terrace and the views were out of this world. DO IT!!

After 6 days of packing in the sights of Rome and Florence we experienced one of the most remarkable and relaxing parts of our trip, staying at Luca’s place! Instead of continuing on to Pisa or Cinque Terra as planned we slowed down and experienced a little of dolce far niente - and did nothing but enjoy the beauty and history of Tuscany through this magical location, astounding views and gorgeous garden and pool. Luca and his family are gracious and welcoming - very special people. Even the experience of getting to the tower, with a drive through Tuscany, will delight and inspire. I hope you too are lucky enough to stay here. Cannot wait to come back.

Wow what a spectacular and magical place. The views are incredible, the pictures don’t do it justice. From the moment we came in contact with Luca, he helped us every step of the way. The Tower was high end antique features, that I have never seen before. Very tastefully done. We fell in love with the roof top and the town. The town has coffee shop and 2 very high rated restaurants. Luca had great recommendation of restaurants and winery’s. The tower was clean, fresh, and the water pressure was amazing. The shower was incredible. 😍 There is parking at the top , where you can unload your suitcases. Tv in all the rooms. Heat as well. Great internet. The beds are cumfy. I cannot express how amazing this place is. 15 minutes to the top 5 winery’s in the region. We will be back for sure.

La casina del dazio è una perla .... ricca di fascino, ben ristrutturata e arredata funzionalmente. Adatta ad un soggiorno breve (la cucina è funzionale ma necessariamente ridotta nelle dimensioni), utilissima per godersi la città vecchia, Il parcheggio per l'auto è relativamente facile da trovare (anche se la maggior parte dei posti più vicini sono soggetti a disco orario). Consigliatissima per fine settimana in coppia.

We absolutely loved our stay! The place has the most beautiful view!! Daniela is a phenomenal host! The place is definitely harder to get to without a car, but Daniela went out of her way to tell us what bus to take, the bus schedules and made sure we got off at the right stop! She went above and beyond! It was very clean upon arrival. We had everything we needed for a week stay — enough towels & linens, pots & pans, paper towels & toilet paper. We loved how much there was to walk to around the place. There is a butcher shop across the street, at least 4 restaurants within walking distance, and a small market with everything we needed. We also walked to the beach many times. There is also a scooter rental place next door that we utilized and that was so convenient and great! It was so quiet and peaceful and all the neighbors are so nice! I just have to mention again how GREAT the views were! We would def come back!! Our only complaints were the amount of flies & how hard the bed was.

Wir hatten wirklich einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt. Alles war perfekt! Die Unterkunft ist wirklich atemberaubend. Die Lage kann nicht besser sein. Emanuele ist sehr nett, hilfsbereit und schnell zu erreichen. Auch Check in und Check out können nicht unkomplizierter verlaufen. Wir können es also jedem aus vollster Überzeugung empfehlen! Siamo stati accolti molto cordialmente da Bernardo che ci ha subito condotti nell’ alloggio proprio all’interno della Torre centrale. Suggestivo e’ dir poco. Location davvero unica con vista a 360*con Capri in “cornice”. Abbiamo altresì apprezzato la tranquillità e la discrezione del contesto. Ho trascorso un paio di giorni in una torre medievale che sembra uscita da un sogno antico, o forse da un’altra vita. Nessuna luce elettrica, nessun riscaldamento: solo pietra, legno, silenzio e il tempo che rallenta. È un’esperienza che chiede di spogliarsi del superfluo, di tornare a sentire il proprio respiro, il vento tra le fessure, la voce del fuoco. Ogni angolo di questa torre parla di storie passate, ma non è un museo: è viva, ti accoglie con la sua ruvida autenticità e ti costringe a guardarti dentro. Nessuna distrazione, solo l’essenziale. È un luogo perfetto per chi ha bisogno di staccare davvero e ritrovare un contatto profondo con sé stesso. Se senti il richiamo, sai già che devi andarci.

What can you say about staying in a castle :) Although it is 1000 years old it is really modernised so your comfort stay is assured. We were situated in tower which has a lift that takes you directly to your room, so it is quite private entrance. View and interior is really beautifull. People are kind.

We loved our stay at San Fabiano castle. The location was perfectly situated between Siena and the Brunello/Montalcino wine region, with easy access to each by car. As the listing states this location is best for those with a rental car or pre-arranged transportation. The grounds themselves and common areas of the castle are lovely, with a lot of space to wander and appreciate the castle from different perspectives. The suite is clean, and has fans that help on warmers days/nights. Our temps were in the low 80s and overcast and the suite stayed cool enough to be comfortable with the fan. A minor suggestion is to have bug spray handy if you tend to attract mosquitos (we were told they can be common due to the nearby river). I’d be remiss not to mention Giovanni who was the host on site supporting us throughout our stay. He was very easily accessible throughout our stay. He helped with recommendations in the area and even helped us secure a taxi to our train station. Being connected to the family who owns the estate was a special and unique experience we’ll never forget.

I stayed in the tower at Giovanni’s place. It was a serene getaway. The views were great. The town was wonderful. I rented a car, so I was able to use this as my home base. Would definitely stay here again!

Staying at Debora’s historic tower was an absolutely unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, we were mesmerized by the tower’s stunning architecture and rich history. Every detail of the space was meticulously thought out, blending modern comforts with historic charm seamlessly. The tower itself is like stepping back in time, with its ancient stone walls and period furnishings, yet it boasts all the amenities one could need. We particularly enjoyed the breathtaking views from the top, offering a panoramic glimpse into the surrounding landscape. The interiors were impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and incredibly cozy. Debora was an outstanding host, offering a warm welcome and insightful knowledge about the tower’s history and the local area. She went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, providing great recommendations for local dining and activities. Her hospitality truly made our stay special. This is not just a place to stay; it’s an experience.
