Located in the foothills of the Olympics, Shippen's Cabin offers the comforts of home in a wilderness retreat. The cabin is an ideal location to base your hiking adventure, or simply come to enjoy some time away from the city while exploring the area's many attractions. Relax after a long day on the trail with a hot sauna or a meal on the deck and enjoy the wilderness setting, often visited by local wildlife. High speed WiFi is available for those that need to stay connected during their stay.

Historic Discovery Bay Beach Cabin Stunning Views

Experience healing and peace with the sound of gentle waves on Discovery Bay. Our cabin was built in 1939 by our grandfather who was an early businessman in Port Townsend. He wisely recognized for decades to come this would be a prized place of rest, enjoyed by 5 generations. Our two kayaks for beginners and new paddle board are available for rent. Explore the unbelievable beauty of the Olympic National Park just a few miles away featuring hiking to rainforests, glaciers, and mountain lakes.

The Studio

The Studio is a very private guest house created from a former art studio, elegantly furnished with a country flair. Located in a farm area, this is a perfect getaway location - convenient to lavender farms, beaches, and mountains, yet less than 10 minutes from downtown Sequim. The property features a private gated entrance, mountain view, fenced and landscaped yard, and ample parking. A bank of Cypress trees provides afternoon shade, and there is a fireplace to cozy up to on chilly evenings.

Elk sometimes wander throughout valley and coyotes may be heard at night. 2 miles from the City of Sequim and John Wayne Marina and Sequim Bay where there is access to fishing, canoeing and kayaking. Plenty of outdoor fun with hiking trails, lavender farms, lakes, wineries, restaurants and shopping nearby.

The unit is located close to the John Wayne Marina, the Olympic Discovery Trail, lavender farms and downtown Sequim. The Olympic National Park and the ferry to Victoria, BC is just a short drive away.

Our cozy country retreat is a 700 sq ft, 1 king bed, 1 bathroom house above a garage on 5 acres at the foothills of the Olympic Mountains. Enjoy beautiful views of the mountain valley and wildlife sighting from the deck or hot tub. 15 minutes to Sequim, 35 minutes to Port Angeles, and 40 minutes to Port Townsend. So close to these towns but a world away. The entrance staircase has 13 steps. No cell reception for most carriers but we have strong starlink wifi.
