We really loved our stay in this beautiful house with the natural surroundings. It was really nice to have lots of windows and doors to enjoy the natural lighting and the breeze through the trees. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bathrooms were nicely done and had good counter space and storage for our stay. I loved having the closet and dresser in the primary bedroom, which allowed me to put away my clothes. The furniture and lighting was tasteful and added to our stay. The fireplace and sauna were nice accessories. The EV charger was wonderful for us to have and really made our stay much more convenient. We would 1000% stay here again!

Bryan's house was such a gem of a find. We went with four adults, three children and a dog and the house was *perfect*. I actually found that the photos didn't do justice to the view: both the lake and the mountain all in one view. We spent the days hiking Blackwater Falls and coming back to fish the lake (caught multiple largemouth bass and bluegill). The kids had a ball, and the adults loved warming up each night on the lower level with the gas fireplace. Truly a 10 out of 10 experience.

This was our group’s first time in a ski in/out house and it did not disappoint. The convenience of being able to walk out back to ski was priceless. We had a great time and will be back!

We absolutely loved this house! The kitchen was beautifully designed and incredibly well-stocked—perfect for cooking and gathering. Every detail throughout the home felt so thoughtful, from the extra touches that made our stay more comfortable to the overall cleanliness and organization. You can tell a lot of effort has been put into making guests feel welcome. The location was fantastic, just a short distance from the slopes, and the home itself was cozy, spacious, and inviting. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to return!

Beautiful, large, and inviting home with plenty of space to spread out. We enjoyed how close it was to hiking in Dolly Sods and enjoyed our time at the cabin as well - which had a games room and a hot tub. Thank you for the fantastic stay!

We had a great family ski vacation. The house was a perfect layout for three couples and one child. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen was well equipped. We were pleased with the cleanliness when we arrived. We would definitely rent this house if we decide to vacation in Davis again.

The house was incredibly comfortable and perfectly equipped for our needs. The location is fantastic—just a short drive to the ski slopes, making it super convenient for our winter adventures. From kitchen essentials to cozy blankets, she truly thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. I would highly recommend Leslie’s retreat to anyone looking for a cozy getaway in Canaan Valley. The property had everything we needed for our 2 nights ski trip at Timberline Mountain. Walk to lift is uphill but very close, less than 10mins. The sleeping arrangement in the house worked great for our group of 3 couples and 3 kids. There were 3 bathrooms in total. We enjoyed the games and the living area with plenty of space to share meals and conversations. Bathrooms and kitchen were stocked with the essentials, it was great we didn’t have to worry about bringing detergents, trash bags, etc. Hosts were very responsive and provided clear check in/out instructions. We were very lucky with fresh snow (3-5 inches) overnight during our short stay and the mountain and surrounding was extremely beautiful. We hope to come back again next season!

We had a wonderful stay. The power went out on the mountain one evening and Emily was available to answer any questions and keep me apprised of the situation. She was a generous and considerate host.

We absolutely loved our stay at Oakwood Nature Retreat! The house has incredible character, and learning about its 80s origins and family history was fascinating. Our host was exceptional, providing excellent recommendations for local, family-friendly activities and hikes. The home is beautifully designed, remarkably well-stocked, and has a wonderfully peaceful feel. As a family from the suburbs near the Nation's Capital, we especially appreciated the unique craftsmanship – a welcome change from mass-built housing. It was perfect for our group (family of 5, grandparent, and dog!). We had so much fun exploring the local hikes, restaurants, and coffee shops, and our biking adventure was a highlight. Highly recommended for a memorable getaway!

This rental was absolutely great! The host was super sweet and extremely flexible with checking in and out, which meet our needs! Lots to do for our kids, beautiful scenery, and very well kept. Highly recommend and would like to come back again!

We spent a weekend while in town for a race. The location was excellent with proximity between Davis and Canaan Valley. The deck was spacious and the atmosphere peaceful. It was a great place to unwind in nature.

We loved our spring break stay at Otter's Den and would return in a heartbeat! Our group was two couples, four children (ages 9 months to 8 years) and one dog, and everyone had a great time. The house is perfect for kids -- lots of open space, and an incredible supply of games, puzzles, and books. We appreciated the comfortable beds and extremely well-stocked kitchen -- it was a joy to prepare meals in. The surrounding area has no shortage of beautiful spots, and host Heather gave us excellent recommendations for walks that even the hike-resistant toddlers enjoyed. Heather was generally a perfect host -- extremely responsive, helpful, and kind. She went above and beyond in ensuring we had a good time. We hope to come back next year!

Wonderful home for our large group and kids had own area downstairs. Hot tub was perfect way to end day after skiing. Snow Shoe Resort short drive away. Would rent again if we can back to Snow Shoe.

Great experience. Perfect location for our trip to smoke hole canyon. Surrounding area is beautiful. Host very responsive and easy to work with.

We stayed at David's wonderful home for a few days around the New Year's. The kitchen was well appointed, the beds comfortable and the gas fireplace was really comforting when it was cold and stormy outside. wonderful location close to the national wildlife refuge, State Parks and the great little towns of Davis and Thomas West Virginia. highly recommended!

Darien’s place was perfect!! It was perfectly clean and beautiful. The house was very private and a beautiful place to stay. The host was very friendly and helpful for anything we needed. The stay was amazing!!

The home was easy to find and clean. It was perfect for our family weekend in WV
