San Francisco's Chinatown is the largest Chinatown outside Asia and the oldest in USA. Just across Columbus Street which divides Chinatown from Northbeach you can explore a different world. Grant Ave is more commercial, Stockton Street has an incredible offering of fresh produce and meat. A walking tour can give you an appreciation of the history.
