A very peaceful and quiet retreat in a lovely part of the North East. It was so quiet and relaxing spending time in the hot tub and inside the cottage. Although this is no fault of Rachael's and/or the cottage please be wary that if you're over 6 foot you will be ducking a lot! I banged my head twice coming out of the bathroom when going during the night and still half asleep (again, this is nothing against the host or the location - just a pre-warning!)

Lovely few days stay, Hayley was very friendly and helpful. Cottage is stunning, much bigger than the photos show and had everything’s we needed. Beds very comfy and big en-suites in every room (although there was only 2 of us) secure garden for our two miniature dachshunds which was great. Location is very peaceful and quiet. Can recommend lunch at the Cumberland which was about a 10 minute walk away. Would definitely recommend this place.

We loved our week at Ivy Cottage. Our boys loved the football nets and we all loved the hot tub! The house had everything we needed and we really appreciated the little added extras that made it feel very homely. Great location too. We’ll be back!

Gatecroft barn (& spa!) is a delightfully quaint little cottage in a fairly remote part of the North Pennines area. My wife and I were looking for somewhere almost off grid, from which we could walk our dog, enjoy walks together and indulge in a spot of fell running. We needed it to be not tooooo far from some kind of shops and close enough to drive if we fancied somewhere special to eat. We were also looking for somewhere with a little something else, a cherry on top. Well we found that, in spades! Garrigill is picturesque and then some. There are walks/ runs from the front door! The cottage is well equipped. The hot tub (the cherry on top!) is perfect for after the adventurous days in the great outdoors - hygiene and cleanliness of which is exemplary. The host was as helpful as you could hope for (def one of the better hosts we’ve come across!) and made some great recommendations - most of which we used and welcomed! Including a meal at Langley Castle. We’ll definitely go back… 5*

I absolutely loved our stay at Barnacre Alpacas, we stayed in the rose cottage, it was very clean and the hot tub was a bonus. We enjoyed the alpaca walk and talk, that was something I’ll never forget! On arrival the cottage was dressed up for a birthday surprise and champagne and chocolates was left for us. Thank you to Paul and Debbie, we will be back!

Loved our two night stay in Stanley Cottage. Great parking to rear of the cottage. Lovely wee touches like, bread, prosecco, milk, orange juice and biscuits. Ben was great and will return when back down in that area.

Angela’s place was fabulous, we have young children and Angela went above and beyond to make our stay great, would definitely recommend to others, Angela is a wonderful host! The cottage is also very well equipped and clean!

We enjoyed a great break in Peewit Cottage, which was spotless and had everything you need. The surroundings were well looked after and amenities great. The little touches, including the welcome pack (best we’ve had and included the dog!) and Prosecco and strawberries to enjoy in the hot tub were thoughtful and lovely. All the information you need is provided prior to arrival or readily available within the cottage. We used the cottage as a base to visit local attractions, all easily accessible by car. Glen was both very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend and somewhere we would return to. Thank you, Jacqueline!

Great stay in Philippa’s place, very cosy and set out in the countryside. Would definitely come back for some quiet time.

Outstanding cottage, would love to come back soon! The photos don’t do it justice! It’s even better when you’re there. Spotlessly clean, beautiful kitchen/dining room and comfortable bed. The views from the back garden were fab! I can’t recommend this enough, would have happily stayed there longer and will definitely return. It was a lovely gesture that Kate even baked for us!! Had a lovely stay here. Great location in the centre of the village but still peaceful. The house had everything we needed. Very friendly staff on the hotel reception. We would love to come back.

We had a lovely stay in the cottage, it was clean & tidy, loved the wood burner, the bedrooms were lovely especially the master bedroom…very comfy bed. Loved the garden with lots of different seating areas, beautiful view & very peaceful. A 2 minute walk up to the town for shops, restaurants & bars & a 5 minute walk down to the dairy milk bar for fabulous ice creams & milkshakes. Lots of gorgeous near by walks too. A lovely stay & would definitely book again. Thank you Pam.

Beautiful cottage 5 mins from beach. Very clean and tidy, milk in fridge on arrival for a much needed cuppa. Good communication from Nick. Would stay again.

Lovely cottage in a great location. We really enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable, Diane has thought of everything and the little extras like the dog blankets/bowls were very much appreciated. The wood burner made us extra cosy when we had a rainy evening. Great to have parking and somewhere near to exercise our dog. An ideal location , we had days out to Kielder Forest & Seahouses as well as exploring the Roman fort sites. Would definitely recommend this cottage and hopefully we will be back. Thank you.

What a lovely cottage! Julie and Nigel's cottage is a real home from home, and it matches the photographs perfectly. Thoughtfully decorated, and made to feel homely with blankets, pictures, books etc. Homemade bread and delicious muffins, plus milk and tea and good coffee were most welcome. I appreciated the use of Eco friendly cleaning products and shampoos etc. Comfortable bed with cotton duvet cover and comfy pillows. Big, fluffy towels were great. There are maps and suggestions of places to visit and eat. Julie sent me some recommendations too which were helpful. Friendly neighbours who are keen to share information too. It is perfect for two people - and our dog was made ever so welcome too. Julie and Nigel were responsive to messages right from booking to the end of our stay. Thank you Julie and Nigel for letting us stay in your lovely home.

What can I say... Absolutely fantastic place. You couldn't ask for anything more. Really peaceful location with fantastic views of the hills etc. We had a strange issue but this was sorted out very swiftly by Malcolm 👍 We will definitely be looking to book again and have another peaceful time just watching the world go by. Very relaxing break in a lovely home. The area is quiet and peaceful. Lovely walk along the promenade to cafe needles eye (definitely worth a visit!)

Gorgeous cottage amongst stunning setting. Cottage is delightfully designed and with everything you could need. The wood burning stove and bath are welcome comforts during colder weather. Philly delivered a welcome hamper and warm vibes on arrival. Amongst an array of wildlife from blackbirds and robins to turkeys and white peacocks! Perfect cosy retreat for any couple.

The Vault is the perfect place to stay while visiting Hexham. It really was a home from home. Super clean, cosy and a great location. Alex was a great, friendly host. Can’t recommend Alex and The Vault highly enough. Thank you Alex

We had a great family gathering to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary with our eldest son and his family next door in #12 and our youngest and wife with us. I am partially disabled due to a fall after our initial booking and expressed my concern about the showering facilities before arriving. Michael responded to this by adding grab rails, shower stool and mat before our arrival. Full marks for that. I had also been concerned by the prospect of climbing stairs, but managed them well enough. The cottage was light, bright and very clean . It is 5 minutes to Cullercoats Bay beach, albeit down a steep hill. There is Co-Op store 5 minutes walk in the other direction. Didn't try the Queen's Head but did go to the free jazz lunchtime session in the Cullercoats Crescent Club and was made most welcome. We would use this cottage again if the occasion shoud arise.

We have just returned from a wonderful week at Hethpool. Eildon was a wonderful host. We would not hesitate in returning to Hethpool Cottage and intend to do so. I have already been singing its praises to colleagues

we had a lovely relaxing stay. The cottage was tucked away in a peaceful location but still walking distance to go into town. lovely places to eat and plenty of shops. We enjoyed the local crafts at the market. So much to do in the surrounding area
