Close to Volcano Village- restaurants/cafes, farmer's market, galleries, & winery. An ideal home base for exploring the east and south shores of the Big Island.

At 4000 ft elevation, experience a unique upland rain forest climate where it's cool enough to relax by the fireplace or enjoy a soak out in the hot tub. Located on the grounds of our 1930s plantation house, in the heart of historic Volcano Village, The Maid's Quarters cottage is within walking distance of all village shops and restaurants, and just a few minutes drive from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Charming Rainforest Cottage

Surrounded by orchids and other tropical flowers, the cottage is located on two lovely landscaped acres - 30 minutes from Hilo or Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The property is solar powered, an off-grid sustainable system with 4G phone service and fiber optic wifi. The last two miles are on unpaved gravel road in variable condition depending upon how much rain we've had lately. Four wheel drive isn't necessary but an SUV or similar vehicle with higher clearance is recommended.

Good news, I have upgraded my WiFi to the best in our area. I know now our guest needs have changed and good WiFi is a must. We also added a covered deck with a BBQ for your convenience. Volcano Hidden Cottage is centralized location making exploring the East side of the Big Island easy. Very private, Full of Romance, Kitchen, fireplace, and lots of window overlooking rain forest.
