Barmeyer trail is a great little hike in town. It’s about 3 miles round-trip and had a great overlook of the valley.

Nice hike with valley views from the top. Very close by. Drive down Whitaker and turn right on Pattee Canyon Rd. Mo Z trailhead for trails on Mt. Sentinel is to your left(parking by gas plant) prior to the Barmayer trail head on your right.

Looking for a good hike, close by with some incredible views. Barmeyer is for you. It offers a 3 mile loop, the first 1.5 is switch backs through a forest, then it opens up for the rest. When you get to the top you can go to the right and find the overlook. Its all downhill from there.

The 1.5 mile Barmeyer Trail is Missoula's newest addition (June 2018) to its extensive trail network. Located on Mount Dean Stone, the trail leads from the heavily forested trailhead off Pattee Canyon Drive to a grassy overlook with an incredible view of Missoula.
