“Hiking, scenery and a diversity of sites to visit. Take plenty of water and snacks and make sure your car runs well. Long distances, but worth the trip. Start out early since it is HOT especially mid day. Cool off at Darwin Falls.

We are within 5 miles to the entrance of Death Valley National Park… Death Valley National Park straddles eastern California and Nevada. It's known for Titus Canyon, Furnace Creek, and Badwater Basin's salt flats, which is North America's lowest point. Telescope Peak Trail weaves past pine trees. North of the spiky salt mounds known as the Devil's Golf Course, rattlesnakes live in Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes. Near Nevada is the Spanish-style mansion Scotty's Castle. The park is home to many species of plants and animals that have adapted to this harsh desert environment. Some examples include creosote bush, bighorn sheep, coyote, and the Death Valley pupfish, a survivor of much wetter times.

We are roughly an hour and a half from this information area, less time to the park. This is a beautiful must-see park when coming to this side of the country!
