Autosnelweg richting Coimbra, reken op 45 minuten rijden. ―Venetië van Portugal.ǁ Behoorlijk overdreven als omschrijving maar toch een bezoek waard met een boottochtje doorheen de stad. De typische traditionele vissersbootjes zijn erg kleurrijk beschilderd en bijzonder mooi. Enkele mooie voorbeelden van art nouveau. Je kan de oude vuurtoren Farol aan de Praia de Barra bezoeken mits telefonische reservatie. Het er naast gelegen natuurpark S. Jacinto heeft een zeer groot strand. Bij bezoek aan Aveiro zeker even door rijden naar Costa Nova met schitterende rij huizen in Pyamastijl als handelsmerk van het stadje.

They say it is the Venice of Portugal. As I have been to Venice several times, it is a little far off from that saying. However, it is a nice place to do a day trip. It is a nice easy going town with some places to see. Take a boat or a Tuk-tuk ride.

Ride the moliceiro boats on the canal. Pretty,. Touristy. great to walk around and also see the architecture

Aveiro is commonly known as the little Venice of Portugal. It's distinguished by its canals navigated by colorful boats (barcos moliceiros), traditionally used to harvest seaweed. Not far from its core, known for art nouveau buildings, is the Cathedral of Aveiro, with its prominent bell tower. The Museu de Aveiro, housed in a former convent, has a lavish tomb made of marble.
