Family friendly trail with a nice beach and lovely views. Takes about 1-1.5 hours to walk around. Great place to have a picnic. The lake is warmer than Lake Wakatipu so can swim in it during summer.

The walk around Lake Hayes will reward you with beautiful views, especially on a still day, when the lake is like a mirror. Allow 1 1/2 hours for the full loop walk. Then perhaps reward yourself with coffee and cake in Arrowtown.
