Verona is een van de mooiste steden van Europa. Het is voor jong en oud een leuke stad. U vindt er cultuur (zoals het balkon van Romeo & Julia, de Arena en nog veel meer) en leuke winkels. Vanaf de parkeergarage loopt u eerst naar: Het Piazza Bra, ongetwijfeld het leukste, beste, mooiste en gezelligste plein van Verona. Op dit plein vindt u onder meer de Arena di Verona, waar in de zomer de beroemde opera's in de open lucht opgevoerd worden. De arena stamt uit de 1e eeuw na Christus. Elk jaar in juni, juli en augustus worden er beroemde opera’s uitgevoerd. Vroeger was het een stadion waarin gladiatoren tegen stieren vochten en het had oorspronkelijk 3 verdiepingen. In 1117 verwoeste een aardbeving bijna de gehele bovenste verdieping en de oorspronkelijke buitenmuur. Vanaf hier loopt u naar de: Gotische basiliek van Sint-Anastasia, één van de highlights van Verona. Hij dateert uit ongeveer 1290. In de 16e eeuw is de kerk volledig voltooid. In het gebouw hangen ook diverse fresco's. Het vertrek van St.-Joris uit 1436-1438 is de bekendste. Vanaf hier loopt u naar de: Duomo, de Dom van Verona. De oorsprong ligt rond 360 tot 380 na Christus. Rond de 7e eeuw werd de basiliek verwoest door een brand of een aardbeving. Tussen de 8e en 9e eeuw werd deze in opdracht van Pazifikus weer opgebouwd. In 1117 werd deze kerk verwoest bij een aardbeving en hierna weer opgebouwd en uitgebreid. In de 15e en 16e eeuw werd de Dom van binnen gerestaureerd. Dicht bij de dom ligt de: Ponte Pietra, een Romeinse brug uit de 1e eeuw v. Chr. Wanneer u de brug met de rivier Aldige oversteekt dan komt u bij het: Teatro Romano, een Romeins theater uit de 1e eeuw voor Chr. Van daaruit loopt u naar: Het Castel San Pietro, een Middeleeuws kasteel (ooit een strategisch belangrijke vesting) met adembenemend uitzicht op het oude centrum. Terug over de brug lopen we langs de Dom naar: Het kasteel met de brug van Scaligero met daarnaast het museum. Vervolgens terug naar Piazza Bra en de parkeergarage.

Verona is prachtig met al zijn kerken en musea en het theater. Ook om te winkelen is het leuk.

Tickets are sold both on the stone steps of the amphitheater and in the stalls, where, of course, it is much more comfortable to sit and hear the music better. In addition, Verona is the birthplace of Romeo and Juliet, whose tragic love story happened, according to Shakespeare, on these streets. Juliet's house is located at 23 Via Cappello, with a life-size bronze statue of her in the center of the courtyard. Touching her hand or chest is a good sign: Love will certainly come to you (even after the third marriage) ... well, or it won’t leave, if there is one. You can also go up to the balcony from which Juliet spoke to Romeo, take a picture, wave from there to the crowds of visitors below and leave an autograph at the entrance to the courtyard, where all the lovers of the world certainly want to write something. Grab a coffee at "piazza delle Erbe" and take a leisurely stroll along the Lungoadige Rubelle promenade along the Adige River, which rises in the Alps and flows into the Adriatic Sea. For dinner, we recommend "La antica bottega del vino", founded in 1890, with its exquisite local cuisine and unique wines, presented on a hundred-page wine list. For the first visit to the city, 5-7 hours are enough. The train departs from Milan Central Station. Travel time is about 1,5 hour.

The stomping ground of star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet, Verona is so much more than the setting of a Renaissance ill-fated romance.
