You will usually get a better deal using the local currency in your transactions there. You may convert currency at any of the several commercial banks or CAMBIOS in the area. There is a CAMBIO inside the airport for your convenience. Across from the Montego Bay Club, there is an ATM (Cash Machines). Down in the town center, about 20 minutes away, or 5 minutes by car, there are several banks. You may need your passport or an internationally recognized ID to exchange currency. CAMBIOS usually give you a slightly higher rate of exchange than the banks. There are a couple of them on the right hand side of the street, about 5 minutes away, walking in the direction of the airport from MBC on Gloucester Avenue. Do not convert currency with anyone inviting you to do so on the streets. When shopping for tokens and gifts you will obtain significantly better prices at the Harbor Street Craft Market downtown Montego Bay, than on the Hip Strip or at the airport. You can even haggle a bit over the prices. Just 5 minutes by car (or a 20 minute walk) gets you there.
