Old Town Chinatown is definitely seedy, but if you can get past that, you'll get a glimpse of how Portland looked in the early 1900's. Saturday Market is also in this part of town and you can find all kinds of treasures there.
Old town Chinatown is a very cool part of Portland that everybody should check out at least once. The Chinese gardens are amazing.
Lots of great fun places to drink, including gay bars, a karaoke bar, and great Chinese food, all within a couple of blocks of each other!
It's historic architecture gives you a glimpse of what Portland looked like during the early days. There you will find: The Classical Chinese Garden, Portland's Saturday Market (also on Sunday), the Skidmore Fountain and many other places of interest.
