From the moment I made my booking to checkout, Giovanni, Nokuzola and team made me feel incredibly welcome. Their hospitality was truly exceptional, with warm, thoughtful touches (fresh fruit and candy upon arrival!) that made my stay feel so special. I appreciated prompt communication from hosts - responsive, clear, and always friendly, ensuring I had everything I needed for a smooth and enjoyable stay. What a special spot in KwaZulu-Natal! The farmhouse itself is a peaceful retreat, tucked away in a stunning, serene location with breathtaking views of the surrounding farm landscapes. Wish I could’ve stayed longer but I will definitely be back!

The picture cannot describe the beauty and tranquility enough. It felt like a dream. We felt right at home and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The most peaceful place I’ve ever been to and new favourite for a stay in the Midlands, an area I quite frequent. And Gugu was absolutely amazing.

The Watering Hole is a beautiful and idyllic property in a magnificent location. The hosts are friendly, accommodating and left personal messages and treats for us to enjoy. We enjoyed our stay immensely and will book there again if needed.

Just wow. We escaped the city and walked right into a slice of heaven. The photos don’t do this place justice. You will be so relaxed when you leave here that you will regret having to go back to reality. Kirsten and her dad helped with everything we needed, the road is a bit tricky if it has rained but nothing to cancel your trip over. A true farm experience with peaceful, quiet surroundings, a stunning fireplace, easy living, a blessing not to be surrounded by technology, giving you the ability and opportunity to unwind, rest and relax. We brought along a Bluetooth speaker and had a proper farm jol into the evening with the peace and beauty of nature surrounding us. We left with heavy hearts and wished our stay was an extra few days. This house has everything you need to have a wonderful getaway. Bring your board games and some Old Brown Sherry for those chilly evenings and go and experience true rest and relaxation. Kirsten your slice of heaven will definitely see us again!

The staff was brilliant - always there, yet never in your face. They were friendly and always assisting. The house was beautiful. You could either spend the day exploring the countryside or just stay home - lounging around. The little stove came in handy as it was suddenly very cold. The dining room table turned into "head quarters" - whether it was to sit and eat, drink a cuppa or play games around the table - so entertaining. The surroundings of the home is peaceful - a farm with cattle and horses - so waking up to the farm sounds, starts the day of on a very calm note. This will definitely be a yearly excursion for us. Deborah's cottage is special. We spent 7 days there and enjoyed every minute. Deborah was a gracious and patient hostess and ensured that we were well looked after. The cottage is so cozy. The fact that it is off the grid is a huge plus. There is a large fireplace in the lounge and the beds are really comfortable. There are beautiful walks through the bluegum and pine forests that are not strenuous at all. You can also cycle through the forests. We used the canoe provided and loved every minute. If you want a peaceful holiday in a tranquil setting that is far away from the chaos of the city, then this is the place to visit. We would love to return.

Tastefully and well equipped cottage in a beautiful garden and peaceful surroundings. Di’s communication was excellent. Slindile greeted and welcomed us warmly, tended to requests promptly, and delivered delicious fresh muffins. We enjoyed the walk through the wetland and being able to sit outside listening to the bird calls and enjoying the quiet. The cottage is well located for exploring the midlands. Can highly recommend.

It was an absolute magical experience at the cottage with breathtaking views. It was truly relaxing and exactly the break away we needed during the festive season. We really appreciate all the thoughtful touches to the property that were provided Fortunate and Pam were extremely helpful as well Will definitely visit again soon !

The place is absolutely stunning. Tim who manages the property was extremely helpful and always went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable, he is truly an asset to the farm. If I could recommend slight touches - The hot tub takes forever to heat up, it would be great to get a solar blanket as well to retain the heat - A lounger patio would be a great addition to soak up the sun in the afternoons. Overall a stunning place which is nice and secluded, the roads traveling to and from Nottingham road is not the best so I would suggest getting what you need to limit driving up and down

We had a wonderful 2 nights at Di's place. Beautifully decorated with thoughtful touches. Well equipped kitchen with sharp knives! Dreamy garden with lots of little 'garden rooms' for a morning coffee or sundowner. Then, to top it off, a delivery of freshly baked muffins with farm butter every morning. Thank you Di, we had a very special stay with you, will most certainly be back when we are next in the Midlands.

Had a wonderfully peaceful stay. Beautiful landscape and loads to do. The cottage has everything that one needs. We will definitely be back for a longer stay.

We loved our stay at Hum Lilly - even allowed to bring our little pooch which was an added bonus. Very private setting. Road is a bit of a challenge when it rains but doable (we have sedans and it was fine, just very muddy). The place has a lovely feel to it. It's basic in terms of supplies as it's self catering so make sure you bring things, as it's not like you can just pop to the shops if you run out (like we did!). We wouldn't hesitate to book there again. Loved the fire place in the lounge, the beds were SUPER comfy and all in all, I would recommend it. Certainly worth staying at :)
