A patio door off the kitchen which leads to your own private terrace, where you can watch the spectacular sunsets over a barbecue.

Quince Cottage

Quince cottage is a gorgeous spacious historic house, nestled in a tree'd garden, a walk away from the centre of Wakkerstroom, all the restaurants, the Vlei & bird hides. It is separated from Apple Cottage by foliage so is completely private. With 2 double bedrooms, bathroom en suite, kitchen with dishwasher, dining area and lounge with fireplace. The property is fenced around the whole property not just the house and the gate is a farm gate, which may not be suitable for tiny dogs.

Country Farm Retreat (site 1)

Get away from it all when you stay under the stars. Limited camp sites for individuals, small groups or couples. Bubbling brook, lush vegetation, mountains, scenic views, walks and hikes to wow all. Newly built ablution block with showers hot and cold water, kitchen, scullery, lights and power plug for cellphones. Please bring your own tents, caravans or motor homes, as well as cooking and eating utensils. The same applies to bedding which will probably be your sleeping bag etc.

A popular wedding venue and acces to private game reserves and trout fishing. Many festivals and activities like the Wakkerstroom music festival.

Vlei House

A large, comfortable, self - catering holiday house. Walking distance to both the Wetland Reserve and Wakkerstroom Village. Tranquil, with a very large garden that leads onto the 'vlei'. It is perfectly located within Wakkerstroom. We deliberately do not have wifi or television so as to enjoy the 'digital detox' that Wakkerstroom offers. There is erratic mobile network coverage in Wakkerstroom and at Vlei House. There are TVs at the hotel and some pubs, in need.

Sunbird Cottage - Relaxed Farm Getaway

Sunbird Cottage is on a working farm 30km from Volksrust and Wakkerstroom Wetlands, it is a place to come and relax and recharge, we are off grid. There is great birding, walking, mountain biking and bass fishing on site, there are also kayaks for the dams. The cottage overlooks a gorge that goes down to the Slang River with an indigenous forest and has great views over the valley towards Amajuba Mountain and Battlefields for those interested in history.

The Cottage is within walking distance, 100m, of restaurants and town centre but also very private with beautifull gardens and lovely patio for you to enjoy. you can light a fire for those cooler wakkerstroom days or nights...bring your own music playlist of favourite music to listen to on our sound system and read your favourite book or you can just relax on the couches after some birdwatching!
