Misty Mountain Hut-Ruapehu is located in the sleepy little village of Rangataua, 5 minutes distance to Mountain road going up to the Turoa skifield and Ohakune. The 1 bedroom colonial villa has a beautiful view of the mountain. Unlimited wifi and a new firebox with plenty of firewood and a heat pump ensure you are warm in winter. My favourite time here is summer for amazing walks/cycling up mountains to enjoy majestic views. Misty Mountain Hut supports local staff by paying $40/hr for cleaning.

Only 10 minutes drive from town, our house sits high up on a hill over looking Whakaipo Bay, Lake Taupo's western bays and the surrounding farmland. Feel like you are in the middle of nowhere while only being minutes from the lively town of Taupo. Our large front porch and yard is the perfect place to enjoy time with your loved ones. This house is beautifully presented with everything you need to either work or relax. Great quality Beds & Linen. Excellent Hot Water pressure. Fully equiped kitchen. Log Fire and Air conditioning. Sky TV, including Sport & Movies. Wifi. If you need to work while staying at Number 12, there is a gorgeous desk situated in the large bedroom. Large back yard.

Tui Cabin

This container home is set in a private spot surrounded by native bush with a view of the mountain through the trees. The interior of the cabin consists of a separate bedroom with a queen size bed, a fully equipped kitchen, lounge and wood burner. The container has a cosy ambience with lots of light on a sunlit day. Large ranchsliders connect you to the natural world outside for hiking, kayaking, canoeing, skiing or mountain exploring. Walk across the road to dine or relax and cook at home.

Dreamy sunsets over Lake Taupo & Ruapehu

Our modern home is 15 minutes from Taupō yet feels like a private hideaway. Quiet and secluded, it looks out to Lake Taupō and Mount Ruapehu, with stunning sunsets. Ideal year-round, it has outdoor areas with BBQ, large windows and a double-sided fireplace. Whakaipo Bay is 5 minutes away for swimming or walking, with plenty of bush tracks nearby. Not suitable for children. Hairdryer, toiletries and iron not provided (sorry guests keep taking them and it’s to hard to constantly replace).

Echolands Valley Lodge

This homestead is 7.5kms from Taumarunui and situated on a Stud Sheep & Cattle farm thats surrounded by everyday country life. It is set is on a large section amongst a variety of beautiful plants, shrubs and trees. You can visit the many attractions nearby including The New Sky Waka Gondolas up Mt Ruapehu only 49kms away or relax and enjoy some quiet country life. It has a log fire to keep you warm in winter and open plan with doors opening off every room onto a deck for hot summers.

Only 35mins to the Whakapapa Skifield and both 20mins from Taumarunui and National Park our place is a good base for the numerous walking or biking tracks available around our district.
