Enjoy the east side of the Island of Hawaii in our charming and comfortable 1 bed/1 bath home that offers an excellent home base to relax or return to each day from exploration. This beautifully appointed 1 bedroom/ 1 bath with fold-out couch is in the top floor of a two-story home. It is the perfect locale for sightseeing the Hilo and Volcano side of The Big Island. Guests stay on the 2nd floor which is 480 square feet of living space.

This property is located in a residential neighborhood for you to conveniently explore the East side including several black sand beaches, hikes to tide pools & waterfalls near Hilo & Volcanoes National Park. This property is 10 blocks from high-cliff ocean, on the dead-end side of the street, with very little traffic. The lanai overlooks our 1-acre avocado orchard with 70 avocado trees, lychee, papaya, mango, banana, pineapple, mandarin, spinach and lemongrass. Please ask my husband, Jason, what is ripe.

It has two bedrooms, one bathroom, living room, dining area, an indoor waterfall, and stocked kitchen, There is a beautiful lanai that overlooks a large koi pond and spacious, manicured grounds. We call the property Old School Hospitality because it was built from recycled materials from the old Hakalau School. Much of the house's charm comes from the unique materials used in construction.
